رجل الاعمال "جوان غامبر" الذي ولد بمدينة "فنترتور" في 22 نوفمبر/تشرين الثّاني 1877 ، كان الرجل الذي قرر بدء بناء نادي لكرة القدم في برشلونة . رجل الاعمال قام بوضع اعلان في احدى المجلات الرياضية يطلب من خلاله لاعبين للانضمام ، الاعلان نُشر في 22 اوكتوبر/ تشرين الاول سنة 1899.
غامبر عُرف ببرشلونة بإسم "جوان" ، انتقل الى العاصمة الكتلانية في سنة 1898 لاسباب العمل . بعد شهر من التاريخ المذكور اعلاه الذي نشر به الاعلان ترأس اول اجتماع للنادي مع Gualteri Wild, Lluís d'Ossó, Bartomeu Terradas, Otto Kunzle, Otto Maier, Enric Ducal, Pere Cabot, Carles Pujol, Josep Llobet, John Parsons William Parsons. أُسس الاجتماع وضعها الرجل الانكليزي Gualteri Wild الذي اصبح اول رئيس للنادي . الاجتماع الاول تم الاتفاق فيه على الواجبات و الاهداف من انشاء هذا النادي.
منذ البداية ارتدى اللاعبون القمصان مقسومة بلونين الاحمر و الازرق ، النصف السُفلي كان باللون الابيض .
منذ البداية بحث نادي برشلونة عن ملعب دائم للعب فيه. لعب برشلونة في سنة 1900 في حديقة لفندق كازانوفاس ، 1901 في حديقة فندق كاريتيرا ، 1905 في كارير مونتانر و كارير اندوثتريا و هذا المكان امتلكه النادي فيما بعد و كانت لديه قدرة استيعاب 6000 شخص. الملعب افتتح رسميا في 14 مارس 1909 و منذ ذلك الوقت بدأ النادي بحصد الالقاب حيث فاز بأول لقب كان يُدعى "كوبا ماكايا" موسم 1909-10 . البيئة الجيدة في النادي بذلك الوقت جعلته يفوز بالبطولات التي نُظمت في كتولنيا بذلك الوقت و فاز بهذه الالقام لمواسم : 1909-10، 1910-11، 1912-13، 1915-16، 1918-19 1919-20, 1920-21 و1921-22، والبطولات الإسبانية 1909-10, 1911-12, 1912-13, 1919-20 و1921-22 و في تلك الفترة اصبح اسم النادي يتوسع رياضيا و اجتماعيا على حدٍ سواء.
